Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm blogging about. I hope you find my ramblings of interest.
Firstly, you'll probably be a guitarist, as this blog is mainly about guitar stuff and the reason I'm writing it is because I'm a qualified electronics guy working within the musical instrument business... in fact, I started the Session amplifier company back in November 1979.
Since those days, the Internet has come along. And what a wonderful tool it is! I wish it had been around when I was a lot younger. But... there is also a bad side to it. And that is, that anyone can say what ever they like about anything or anyone, whether it's true or not. Sadly, most don't realise that libel laws apply on the Internet too!
Now, to be clear, I don't have many problems with anyone saying things about me... that is not yet, until my blog hits the world! But I do have problems with people deliberately uttering untruths about guitar related electronic equipment. Therefore, with the help of this blog, I hope to 'try' and dispel some of the hype, snake oil and misinformation that is spread and has become accepted, by most players, as the truth.
Of course, this problem is by no means exclusive to this industry, but I don't think it hurts to highlight what is going on in a genuine attempt to help musicians think carefully about what is claimed. More importantly, how they can use their finances that they spend on gear more wisely!
I hope you'll find it a valuable resource, as reliable information is very hard to come by.
